Pickerel frogs most often seen in early summer. They are my most favorite frog. They eat small invertebrates. Their call is similar to Leopard Frog, makes an odd, low croak or snore-like droning call. This species resemble to the leopard frog, but differs in its rectagle-shaped spots, overall brownish rather than green color, and bright yellow under their hind legs. They like cooler waters like brooks and streams, fens and other springy places. They are found throughout the great lakes.
